DIY Maxi Dress

Look! I have shoes!
The back is just like the front, but backwards.

dress: self made
hat: target
bracelets: craft fair and h&m
sunnies: target
sandals: nine west

event: beating the heat before teaching (I didn't wear this to teach)

I love a maxi dress.  When the heat comes to town I greet it in a floor skimming dress and little else (oh the scandal!).  Last month I saw this tutorial on Everybody, Everywear on how to make your own American Apparel-inspired le Sac maxi dress and knew I had to make one.  After making it I now know I need to make several.  The instructions are so easy to follow and quick, so GO!  Make one today!

I used a medium weight polyester (oh the scandal!) 2-way stretch for the dress (about $5 a yard) and grossgrain ribbon ($3), and plan on trying some lighter-weight jersey and possibly some printed chiffon for a swimsuit cover up.  Yeah, so if you see me this summer feel free to tell me my dress looks like a sack---I'll thank you!
